Many of people know of Maya Angelou death was yesterday May 29, 2014 when she died peacefully at her home. For People who don’t know her, i want to tell you guys about who she was and how she got famous and what she is famous for.

Marguerite Ann Johnson;  was an American author and poet. She published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, and several books of poetry, and is credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning more than 50 years. She received dozens of awards and over 30 honorary doctoral degrees. Angelou is best known for her series of seven autobiographies, which focus on her childhood and early adult experiences. The first, I Know Why The Cage Bird Sings (1969), tells of her life up to the age of seventeen and brought her international recognition and acclaim.

As an African American, Angelou experienced firsthand racial prejudices and discrimination in Arkansas. She also suffered at the hands of a family associate around the age of 7: During a visit with her mother, Angelou was raped by her mother’s boyfriend. Then, as vengeance for the sexual assault, Angelou’s uncles killed the boyfriend. So traumatized by the experience, Angelou stopped talking. She returned to Arkansas and spent years as a virtual mute.

During World War II, Angelou moved to San Francisco, California, where she won a scholarship to study dance and acting at the California Labor School. Also during this time, Angelou became the first black female cable car conductor—a job she held only briefly, in San Francisco.

In the mid-1950s, Angelou’s career as a performer began to take off. She landed a role in a touring production of Porgy and Bess, later appearing in the off-Broadway production Calypso Heat Wave (1957) and releasing her first album, Miss Calypso (1957). A member of the Harlem Writers Guild and a civil rights activist, Angelou organized and starred in the musical revueCabaret for Freedom as a benefit for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, also serving as the SCLC’s (Southern Christian Leadership Conferencenorthern coordinator.

n 2000, Dr. Angelou was honored with the Presidential Medal of the Arts; she received the Ford’s Theater Lincoln Medal in 2008. The same year, she narrated the award-winning documentary film The Black Candle and published a book of guidance for young women, Letter to My Daughter. In 2011, President Barack Obama awarded her the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Maya Angelou participated in a series of live broadcasts for Achievement Television in 1991, 1994 and 1997, taking questions submitted by students from across the United States. The interview with Maya Angelou on this web site has been condensed from these broadcasts.

Learning The Orgin Of K-Pop

Korean Pop (or stylized as KPop), is international music (if you are not from Asia) that originated in Seoul, South Korea. in Kpop the music styles are rhythm and blues, jazz, folk, classical, rock and roll, or just  Korean music. There are instruments that are used in kpop are vocals, rapping , drum machines, bass, samplers, etc. Korean Pop uses a narrower approach. Mostly modern kpop music is covering in music styles such as  dance-pop, electronic music, rock,  hip-hop, and more. Korean Pop used a range of genre  with different expressions. They use expressions such as idols and fans. Boy and girl groups in Korea are referred to idols or idol bands.

If you are trying to listen to Korean Pop, your best decision is to start off with the top Korean Pop Bands such as, EXO, Girls Generation, Big Bang, 2PM, and Teen Top (in my suggestion). The first known Korean pop album was “Yi Pungjin Sewol” (The Tumutucous Time) which is by Park Chae-seon. The first pop song written by a Korean composer was called “Nakhwayusu” which was sung by Lee Jeong-suk in the year of 1929. Later in the 21st century Korean Pop singers rediscovered the genre and made it into modern day KPOP. Singers like Daesung from Big Bang and several members from senior group Super Junior produced trot singles. Trot music is a genre of  Korean pop music which is really the oldest style of Korean pop music. In the early 1990s, older Korean pop musicians had American popular styles such as rap, rock, and techno in their music.

In 1992 the upcoming of Seo Taiji & Boys brought the turning point of Korean pop. The trio debuted on MBC’s talent show with their song “Nan Arayo” and got the lowest rating from press. In 1995 Korean entrepreneur Lee Soo-man founded South Korea’s largest talent agency and record label, SM Entertainment. Later in the late 1990s, YG Entertainment, FNC music had burst into the scene and producing talent as quickly as the public could see it. According to foreign policy, the Korean Pop genre took off in Southeast Asia before reaching out to the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and South America. Entertained by the increased interest in Korean Pop songs, several singers decided to expand their music careers  by releasing language-studio albums in the hoping of bringing over the genre to Western music markets. Unfortunately  most of them did not succeeded.

in  2012 Korean pop breakthrough in the Western mainstream media occurred with the release of Psy’s hit song Gangnam Style, which came up over 1.7 billion views on YouTube as of July 2013.

Popular Korean Pop Artists as of 2010 would be suggested in my opinion would be CN Blue, Girls Day, Teen Top, INFINITE, SISTAR, JYJ, Block B, B1A4, EXO, Swing Girls, Super Junior, FX, and Topp Dogg, Speed, Bangtan Boys, BEST, Peach girl.

In the year of 2012 was a record year in Korean Pop history in number of rookie artists, 33 male groups and 36 girl groups debuted.

Korean Pop has mow even spread outside of Korean, thanks to the internet.

The Art of Surprise!

What is art exactly? it may be what you think it is or it may not be what you think it is. In my opinion, art is a form of concentration and technique. You may need skill, you may need talent, heck you may not need talent at all. Art is something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feeling. The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities; this article focuses primarily on the visual arts, which includes the creation of images or objects in fields including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media. The Blair witch project

horror films!

The Blair witch project is a movie about an urban legend about a woman named Elly Kedward who did witch craft and was banished to the woods in the middle of the winter. Supposedly children caught her doing witch craft and reported her to their parents. About a year after she was banished to the woods quite a few children had vanished with no explanation. In October of 1994, 3 student filmmakers dissapered in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland while shooting a documentary. In 1999 a movie was made about this incident.

This specific legend goes as far back as the revolutionary War. Even before the Blair witch became a legend, native Americans refused to go into the Black Hills forest. Many people believe it is just myth, and a way to scare off people and keep children from going into the woods. I think there is a certain truth to…

What Is J-Pop?

If you are trying to find something international to listen to, you would want to start listening to J-Pop. In my opinion if you like Anime and are trying to learn more about it. The music in J-Pop and Anime are both connected at a good advantage.

J-pop, an abbreviation for Japanese pop, is a musical genre that entered the musical mainstream of Japan in the 1990s. Modern J-pop has its roots in traditional Japanese music, but significantly in 1960s pop and rock music, such as The Beatles and The Beach Boys, which led to Japanese rock bands such as Happy Ends fusing rock with Japanese Music in the early 1970s.

Japanese stores typically divide their music into 4 sections: J-pop, Enka (a traditional form of ballad), classical, and English/International. Some songs, such as those by Miyuki Nakajima and Anzenchitai, represent a fusion of Enka with J-pop.

J-pop can be traced to the jazz music which became popular during the early Shōwa period. Jazz reintroduced many musical instruments, previously used only to perform classical music and military marches, to bars and clubs. It also added an element of “fun” to the Japanese music scene. As a result “Ongaku Kissa” became a very popular venue for live jazz music.

In the 80s the term City Pop came to describe a type of popular music with a big city theme. Tokyo in particular inspired many songs of this form. It is difficult to draw a distinction between City Pop and New Music and many songs fall under both categories. Wasei Pop (lit. Japan-made pop) quickly became a common word to describe both City Pop and New Music. By the 1990s, J-pop became the common term to describe most popular songs.

The late 1980s saw the emergence of one of Japan’s most famous rock groups of all time, Chage & Aska. A massively popular male singer/songwriter duo consisting of Chage (Shuji Shibata) and Ryo Aska (Shigeaki Miyazaki), they released a string of consecutive monster hits throughout the 1980s and 1990s, establishing themselves as Asia’s most popular rock group. Their “Asian Tour II / Mission Impossible” tour was the single largest concert tour ever put on by a Japanese group – the tickets for all 61 concerts in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan sold out on the first day. Ryo Aska is widely considered today to be one of Japan’s greatest songwriters. However, with the advent of the Japanese dance-pop music pioneered by Namie Amuro and Tetsuya Komuro in the mid- to late-1990s, the popularity of rock groups like Chage & Aska has declined.

Popular J-Pop Groups i would recommend Tohoshinki
,Big Bang (also does Korean Pop), Ayumi Hamasaki Utada Hikaru Namie Amuro Mai Kuraki Yuna Ito

In The Anime World…

Before you want to watch and get into anime, you need to know the what is it about and the basics. Also i want to get into depth and the origin of anime itself.

Anime is an art form, specifically animation, that includes all genres found in cinema, but it can be mistakenly classified as a genre. In Japan, the term anime refers to all forms of animation from around the world. English-language dictionaries define anime as “a Japanese style of motion-picture animation” or as “a style of animation developed in Japan”.

Japanese animated productions usually featuring or hand-drawn or computer animation. You may think the word Anime is just a short term for animation. It’s not. There are different ways you can describe anime and animation differences. The word is the abbreviated pronunciation of “animation” in Japanese, where this term references all animation; the term may ultimately derive from the French dessin animé, referring to an animated picture. In other languages, the term is defined as animation from Japan or as a Japanese-disseminated animation style. Arguably, the stylization approach to the meaning may open up the possibility of anime produced in countries other than Japan.

The earliest commercial Japanese animation dates to 1917, and production of anime works in Japan has since continued to increase steadily. The characteristic anime art style emerged in the 1960s with the works of Osamu Tezuka and spread internationally in the late twentieth century, developing a large domestic and international audience. Anime is distributed theatrically, by television broadcasts, directly to home media, and over the internet and is classified into numerous genres targeting diverse broad and niche audiences.

Anime is a diverse art form with distinctive production methods and techniques that have been adapted over time in response to emergent technologies. The production of anime focuses less on the animation of movement and more on the realism of settings as well as the use of camera effects, including panning, zooming and angle shots. Diverse art styles are used and character proportions and features can be quite varied, including characteristically large emotive or realistically sized eyes.

Now if you really enjoyed this and really want to look at anime now my preferences in anime to watch would be Naruto, Attack on Titan, Accel World, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Afro Samurai, and Soul Eater because they’re basically my favorite anime you might like them too if you watch anime and like it !

Sony STOP JERKING US AROUND!!!!!!!!!

Random Topics

Ever since Sony entertainment announced the award winning global warfare game Planetside2 was going to release for PS4 at E3 2013, I have been hooked. I’ve followed every news update, every gameplay review, and every last gameplay update. Some of you might be saying “why get so worked up over another fps” well this fps is something entirely different from the usual games we are accustomed to on console. First off the game is an open world, so we don’t go in the usual format of match, stop, other match, stop, and so on and so forth. This means you can play a match then move around the world to find where you want to go next or where you are needed most, second the games has 12,000 player servers!!!! that means you could have fights with thousands of people fighting at a time. that’s pretty impressive for a console game…
